Extending infiniband to all 40 nodes in Vendor #1's Quote 2 would bring the price up to $195K (estimated). Upgrading the 40 work nodes to 5355 (2.66 GHz) quad-core processors would add another $20K (a very rough maximum estimate), bringing the total to $215K (for a cluster that has 10 more nodes than the Vendor #2 quote).
