ZenOSS went on the blink last month, very old install. So I tried Zabbix but not happy with that. Went back to old friend Cacti, very easy install.

Used Net-SNMP template for all devices and Generic SNMP Device for our switches. Had to fix the “stacked” Load Average graphs, turned them into Line[1,2,3] versus Line:Stack[1,2,3]. For alerts I used perl/bash scripts.
