JOB TITLE: Intern

TYPICAL DUTIES: Reporting to the Unix System Group Manager, the Intern will provide general systems support and programming support.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide general system administration support to ITS UNIX systems, including including application/hardware installation, maintenance, and development;
• Provide programming support within our ePortfolio application framework;
• Provide programming support within the unix administrative environment.

MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Some familiarity with Unix system administration and general purpose programming languages such as Perl or Java. Experience with shell scripting. Proven ability to independently solve problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Prior experience in a university setting. Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases and web application development.
