Capture Station Software
License Type: Annual (Software Only)
Use InstructorWeb to start a capture manually or to monitor an ongoing recording.
When capture completes, instructor is emailed a link to the presentation which can be emailed to students (SMTP needs to be enabled on the capture station for this to happen.)
This can be installed on any machine. As of 8/31/06 it is on the SC150 capture station. The Scheduler:
1. Centrally schedules capture sessions for all Apreso capture workstations
2. Exports and uploads the schedules to the capture workstations.
Apreso Content Manager
Content is copied from the local capture station to the Apreso Conent Manager (ACM). Use the ACM to review and delete recorded lectures.
Second admin account (has to be an email address)
email@example.com has a mail alias to: dschnaidt, vspiars, and hzhu
(These credentials need to be recorded on both the capture station and the ACM. If the captured files do not automatically upload, use the account to troubleshoot.)
Apreso content is stored in wesclass.wesleyan.edu/acmcontent/
Software download and lic info from Apreso
Once you have successfully logged onto the site, you will need to download the archive file (ACR.zip) from /install/classroom/ACS/1.3/. Once the archive has been downloaded extract the contents of the file to a local directory on the capture station.
IMPORTANT - READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLATION
Apreso Classroom only supports specific version of the capture card drivers. Before starting the installation, please confirm that version 6.06 of the Datapath Vision RGB Pro-1VGA capture card drivers are installed. If you are capturing video, you need version 3.1.0 or greater of the ViewCast Osprey drivers. These drivers are also available on the FTP site.
After the drivers have been successfully installed, navigate to the ACR folder and run ApresoClassroomSetup.exe and follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

Known Apreso issues
service quit There is a bug where the Apreso service randomly quits and does not restart itself. If this happens, contact IMS directly at x4959 and ask them to reboot the Apreso server in SC150. If IMS is not available, logon to the InstructorWeb page. If you see the system is showing “offline” status, open the services on that remote station (VNC to it), right-click on My Computer – Properties and select Manage.
Go to Services in the Management console and look for the Apreso service. Restart that service. Alternatively, you can also reboot the machine. After reboot look at the service as it sometimes will not automatically start as it is supposed to. –VS 4/3/07
